The e-cigarette operates by either heating herbs or by heating a liquid to generate the vapor, which is then inhaled by the user. The liquid which is used in the e-cigarette is called as e-liquid or e-juice.

The usage of e-cigarette for smoking is referred to as vaping. Though the health impacts of e-cigarettes are still uncertain, they are less harmful when compared to the traditional tobacco cigarettes.

As per research, most of the passive smokers have quit smoking and have started using e-cigarettes instead of a traditional cigarette. But then, if non-smokers start using e-cigarettes, the chances of getting nicotine addiction is high.

The modern-day e-cigarette was invented in 2003 by Hon Lik, a Chinese Pharmacist. The basic difference between an e-cigarette and a traditional cigarette is that the e-cigarette creates an aerosol, which is often referred to as vapor. Another major difference is that most of the toxic chemicals that are found in tobacco cigarettes are absent in the e-cigarette vapor. 

The percentage of toxic chemicals present in the aerosol of e-cigarette are mostly below 1% of the actual levels that are present in the tobacco cigarette smoke. Long-term usage of tobacco cigarette causes several diseases such as lung cancer, throat cancer, and much more, whereas, the long-term effects of e-cigarettes are still unknown.

E-cigarettes are also known as vaporizers – this is because it uses herbs or any other form of cannabinoids extracts that is converted into a vapor, and the user inhales this vapor. Plant substances such as tobacco, cannabis, or herbs, liquids such as a mixture of glycerine, and propylene glycol, and nicotine are used in e-cigarettes.

Thus, the harmful effects and irritating smoke are greatly reduced, which, in turn, has less harmful effects on the health. The smell hangs in the air, and it would be difficult for others to put up with the smell. With e-cigarettes, smokers can now get along well with others even in rooms where the air is heavy. The flavors of the e-cigarettes may sometimes come across as refreshing for others in the room.

6. Greater Convenience Without Having To Feel Conscious About Smoking

Habits are difficult to get rid of, and because the act of smoking may be frowned upon in certain sections of society, the use of e-cigarettes helps the smokers to get along easily without having to be self-conscious about his or her habit. E-cigarettes offer smokers a convenient and discreet alternative to cigarettes without adverse health effects.
