Having an almost worldwide lockdown due to a pandemic these days and owning a dog which you should take care of and walk daily isn’t quite the most reassuring thought, but there are plenty of solutions and options out there.
To walk or not to walk the dog
There are roughly 470 million dog pets in the world, of which 70 million live just in American households, and as many as 900 million in total, so that’s a big population to deal with. The excellent news is that dogs cannot catch coronavirus, so for them is perfectly safe to be outside. The question is: Can we walk the dogs?
Absolutely. For humans, it’s OK to go out with the pets for a short break, without coming close to neighbors or other people passing by. And having the barking friend go for a meet with other dogs in the parc is also allowed, since the owners keep the distance between themselves.
How should we care for the dogs during the coronavirus pandemic?
Walking our four-legged friend is just one of the ways to take care of them during these times. There are plenty of other ways, though, like having dog health insurance plans. Having a care less is very helpful today, so a proper medical care for your dog anytime is some relieve.
For the pet, that means being treated for injuries, car accidents, cuts, congenital and chronic conditions, having hospitalization and surgeries covered, blood tests, X-rays and ultrasounds and much more. For the owner, it means a safety financial net in case of a medical emergency and not having to think twice before going deep into the pocket.
And even if there are some except of what is covered, dog healthcare insurances have made a big difference when it comes to amount and quality of care.
There are also other very important ways to take care of your dog, like:
- Pet-care supply: food, medication and other supplements for at least two weeks, so you would not have to go to the store.
- Updated medical records: be sure that the pet has its vaccines up to date, and also the microchip records are up to date.
- Have someone taking care of your pet in the event in which you would temporary be unavailable.
- Just play indoor with them and do not overfeed; they still have to stay in shape, don’t they?
So, there are plenty of ways to improve the care for our dogs, either through the dog healthcare insurance plan, or just by paying more attention and have all thing done with calm. You also can treat your doggy with cute toys or tasty food. No matter how are the times, planning ahead can be a real savior.
