Nothing is more exciting for a parent than when their baby is ready to try some new foods. But with this comes the responsibility of choosing what is best for your baby. With so many processed foods in the market today, choosing them may not be best or even good for your baby. So when you are on the lookout for the best food for your baby, you want to make sure that it is nutritious. As much as possible, try to avoid baby foods that have added synthetic vitamins and minerals.
Here are five healthy first foods for your baby.
1.Egg yolk
Egg yolk is loaded with healthy fat and choline and it is great for the eyes and brains of babies. It is considered the building block for our hormones. Moreover, they are an easy food for babies. It’s easy for them to eat it up especially once they are already familiar with the taste as well as the texture. More importantly, egg yolks contain calcium, zinc, vitamin E, Vitamin B6, and phosphorus which are minerals important for your baby’s needs.
2. Liver
It may not be as appealing as it sounds but organ meats are definitely a great food choice for babies due to their high concentration of nutrients. Liver, for example, contains high in Vitamin A. This is extremely important for a baby’s development. This vitamin can be found in animal products but most particularly in the liver.
3. Avocado
One of the foods that contain healthy fats is avocado. It is a great first food for a baby. This fruit is also rich in mineral magnesium which is very crucial for the baby’s health. More importantly, it contains Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Folate, fiber, potassium, and niacin. 4. Banana
Babies will most likely love to have sweet foods because of breast milk. This is why most of the time, we see fruits as baby’s food everywhere. One of the best preference is bananas. You’ll need an easy to digest protein source and broth or stock is a great source for this. It makes a soothing food for the baby’s digestive tract. But more importantly, meat stock or bone broth can help strengthen the baby’s digestive tract and get it to read for harder-to-eat foods in the future.
